The Vancouver Island Zen Sangha practises Serene Reflection Meditation (Soto Zen Buddhism) under the guidance of our resident teacher, Reverend Master Meiten of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. The Order, whose first abbess was Reverend Master Jiyu-Kennett, has its North American headquarters at Shasta Abbey in California and its European headquarters at Throssel Hole Buddhist Abbey in England, with priories, temples, and affiliated meditation groups throughout North America, Europe, and the Caribbean.

The Vancouver Island Zen Sangha serves Buddhists in the Victoria area, meeting twice a week. Rev. Meiten leads our meetings, and offers meditation instruction and private spiritual counselling.

We are very pleased to offer Rev. Meiten's second book, Reminders on the Way: Zen Training in Everyday Life.

The Vancouver Island Zen Sangha is a registered charity supported entirely by donations. There are no fees, and donations are gratefully received.
